The large gardens which enjoy a panoramic view are both inviting and relaxing, and given its geographical position, close to the mountains and to the sea, to numerous historical sites it is ideal base for a number of wine and food, sporting and artistic excursions.
It is very close to all the most important wineries in the Colli Orientali and Collio wine producing areas and to anywhere in Friuli, just a short distance away visitors can find typical trattorias and restaurants, some of which still carry on typical central-European traditions.
6 Km away in a beautiful natural setting is the "Golf Gorizia Castello di Spessa" an 18-hole golf club. At about 25 Km away, in Slovenia, in the middle of a fascinating natural backdrop, visitors can practice canoeing and rafting on the Isonzo river. There are also many other sporting itineraries both in the mountains and at the seaside as well as a host of artistic treasures to visit: Aquileia, Grado, Palmanova, the Rosazzo Abbey, Cividale, Udine, Trieste, Gorizia together with castles and beautiful villas, various small historical towns such as Venzone, Gradisca, Tarcento, Cormòns and San Daniele with its excellent “prosciutto”, and many beautiful rural hamlets such as Clauiano without forgetting the picturesque mountain villages of nearby Carnia.
